2 shows, 22 min. in 3. Assisted by Stella Boylan in the playlet, “Jack and Jill”, introducing some very clever tumbling by the children. While this is a dainty little playlet, being well costumed etc., it is decidedly “talky” in the first portion and gets a little tiresome, as a consequence. Nevertheless, the sketch went extremely well today.
And his musical horse “Emir” 15 min. 2 shows. This horse does some remarkable feats, and really seems to have an accurate sense of tune. It is a splendid children’s act. There is some comedy. It may be called a decided hit of its kind. It would draw anywhere. Act is beautifully dressed.
The Dancing kids. 12 min. 3 shows. These people were very weak. Their dancing amounted to very little and their talking less. Carry their own dreps, but in as much as their work could go in 1 to better advantage, it was thought best to cut them down to this space, and also cut out completely the talking section of their act. Received very scant applause.
Two children assisted by their mother in a neat little sketch concluding with acrobatic work. It is a dainty little thing and at the price, is all right. 22 min. full stage, 2 shows
15 mins. Open in one. Gar. in 2. Close in one. Boy and girl, a little dancing, hand balancing and acrobatic work. Serves to fill in some time, and that’s about all. They worked hard enough, but couldn’t seem to do more than just about get by, with the faintest courtesy applause.
This is the usual dancing act of O’Rourke & Burnett’s with the addition of their little boy who is the feature of the turn, and on his account they make quite a hit. 20 min. in one, 3 shows.
Drop in one, 11 min. Local boy and girl not more than 12 or 14 years of age. The pair were somewhat nervous during the first show and did not do themselves the justice we expected of them and know they can do. The dancing of the pair earned them stronger applause at the finish and in this position the act will be fully satisfactory. 3 shows.
