Paul Nevene and Ruby Erwood

Man and woman blackface comedy skit introducing a film, some dancing for a finish. Good line of comedy. Went good. 16 min. In one.

Coakley, McBride and Milo

Three men, black face, as the “Town Hall Minstrels.” A pretty fair singing and dancing act, that secures several strong laughs, and win out on dancing? Allright [sic] for an early place. Twenty-three minutes in one and a half.

Those Four Entertainers

Four fine-looking young men, one in blackface, who harmonise very well in a number of popular and semi-popular songs. One of the best of the quartettes in the business. A little comedy from the blackface. In one.

Frank Morrell

Working blackface. 15 minutes in one. Tells some jokeless jokes but sings well. If he’d stick to singing and cut out the comedy he’d go much better. However, the audience was satisfied and he received his share of the applause. (St. Louis)

Jennings & Smith

20 min in one. Advance applause for Jennings. Hughie is a very fortunate to have a good comedian like blackface minstrel Ben Smith to out ginger in his act. The latter puts over a good line of stuff both in song and story having a very good tenor voice. Jennings’ baseball anecdotes got a good hand, and on the whole, the act make good in the spot.

“Lee” Copeland

“A Ragtime Night-mare.” A new act from the South. Works in blackface with a piano in one. Did not do very well today as his type of the lazy, shiftless southern “nigger” was not understood. Act may develop but in its present form is only good for the small time. Olio in 1. Time 12 min.

Les Copeland

Piano playing and singing. 10 minutes in one. Songs good. Black face act eccentric. Went very well.

Farrell, Taylor & Clark

“That Minstrel Man.” This act furnishes just as good entertainment as the old Farrell-Taylor trio. Doing the same stuff and proved a big laughing hit. Clark gets his coon song over in good shape and act finished strong. Fcy in 3. Close in 1, 4 min.

Jennings & Renfrew

Parody singers. Did very well in this spot. I was lead [sic] to believe that they were to work in white-face so got them on the bill with a couple of other black-face acts. The audience didn’t seem to notice this, however, in the acts that followed them. I am having them open the show in order to split this up. 13 Min. in One.
