Quinlan & Mack

Although these two men are using the oldest of the old material, a great portion of it being the act formerly done by Monroe and Mack, ten years ago and the rest of it, jokes even older than that they manage to make quite a laughing hit although they close to no applause whatsoever. If they had some good material it would be a ‘dandy’ act as Mack is a really funny blackface comedian. The act is worth playing however. 10 min, in one, 2 shows.

Green & Weener

In their specialty called, ‘BABES OF THE JUNGLE.’ This act opens up in one with singing and dancing. They then go to full stage and makeup as Zulus. The scenery if very fine, and the act is quite a novelty, and away from all others. Consists entirely of singing and dancing. Time 15 minutes.

George W. Day

Monologuist. This man is doing his work now in black face, and is good. In fact, I consider his act now the best he’s done in good many years. His finish, with his old trade-mark song, is still the best thing there is. Time 18 minutes in one.

Frank H. White and Lew Simmons

3 shows, 21 min, full stage or in 1, it is immaterial to them. Same old blackface comedy sketch they have been doing since minstrel days, ‘The Band Wagon.’ White is very funny; Simmons is very bad. They pulled through all right in the 3-show section, but that is their limit.

Geo. W. Day

15 mins. in one. Blackface monologue. Day had some new and good stuff, and received many laughs and frequent applause. Very good act.

Emile Surers

12 mins. in one. Blackface coon shouter and storyteller. His talk is not exceptionally good, and his stories are not very funny. Couldn’t arouse much enthusiasm. Works on the lines of Geo. Evans, but is a bad imitation – at least to-day.

Charles Ernest

Songs ad Sayings. Blackface comedian. Has a good voice and considerable stuff which is new to our audience. Act does very good. All in one. Time 19 minutes

George W. Day

I think that Day now is about as good a black face monologue performer as we have. He always has some bright ideas and has an easy manner of presenting them. He had a very hard place this afternoon, which is unavoidable, but at that he made good. 19 minutes.

Van Fossen & McCauley

17 mins. in one. Two men, blackface comedians. Some of their talk and comedy is clever. Act is good throughout. Received many laughs. In spots, the act is very funny. Good three-a-day act.

Emil Subers

3 shows, 15 min. in 1. Blackface talking and vocal comedian. From a 3-a-day point of view, he is quite a clever chap, hit patter being up to the average and his rendering of “coon’ ballads fair.
