Charlie Case

Black face comedian. Charlie had a very hard place on the bill, following everybody else, but, as usual, his peculiar methods reached the audience at once and he created lots of laughter and received lots of applause. 12 minutes in one.

George Wilson

Black face comedian. This is a performer whom I have never been able to see personally, but as it is evident that no one else agrees with me I presume that I must be in the wrong. I have not played him for a couple of years solely because I cant see where he amounts to anything, and I felt the audience, the last time he was over the circuit, felt the same way. I heard of the big success he was making in the West, however, and took a chance of booking him, and it is evident that he has made a strong impression in all the other houses and he went very nicely here this afternoon; so that is about all we care to know about him. 20 minutes in one.

Blocksom and Burns

YRR 2 – Black face comedians in an eccent[ric] comedy and acrobatic at, closing with the supposedly invisible wire which used in this connection always seem good for a laugh. They were very strong here this afternoon, their finish especially making a big hit. 14 minutes, open full stage and close in one.

George H. Wood

He is working in white face this week on account of two other black face acts being on the bill. Act is going very strong. His stuff is good and for the most part new and is well delivered. One of the hits of the show. 28 min. in one.

George Primrose and Foley Brothers

In their black face dancing specialty. Use their own watermelon drop. Act is going very well indeed. Primrose gets a strong reception at each performance and the audience are loath to let him go. He is obliged to make a speech at nearly every show. 14 min. F.S.

Brandon and Wiley

NR 3 – A colored man and woman in a lively singing and dancing act. The man is beyond question the liveliest fellow of his race that I have ever seen. He does a lot of acrobatic dancing and some entirely original feats in the gymnastic line. The woman is clever and the whole act made a big hit. 17 minutes in one.

McIntyre and Heath

Two real comedians. “The Georgia Minstrels”. These artists are well-known, though they have not played here in sometime, then act is good and went strong. It is unquestionably the funniest black face specialty before the public. Open in one, close full stage. Time: 38 minutes.

Blocksom and Burns

2 shows, 14 min. in 3 – Eccentric black face singing and dancing comedians. Their act is not so good as formerly. They have cut out a lot of their funny business, such as the burlesque walking on tight rope, barrel jumping, etc., and substituted other stuff that is not fetching. The finish of the act, with the burlesque acrobatic stuff, with the aid of a wire from above, is not nearly so good as that offered by Collins and Hart who have them beaten a mile. The latter are worth at least one-third more salary than these men get, which means that Blocksom and Burns should get about $50 per week less salary.

McIntyre and Primrose

GRR-3 – Two young men in a blackface comedy talking and singing act. McIntyre is the son of Jim McIntyre of McIntyre and Heath, and he does the comedy end of the act, while Primrose is the straight man. There has been a great improvement in their act since they were here last, so far as the conversational part of it is concerned, and they got lots of laughs, but the songs they did this afternoon were of absolutely no use whatever, and I have told them to cut them all out and put in something new. If they do this the act will be all right for the balance of the circuit in a 3-a-day position. 13 minutes; in one.
