Eddie Cassidy
Blackface Comedian. Some new and a lot of old gags that went big. Signs a couple of Irish songs and a couple of Irish recitations that went big. Act as a whole went very big.
Farrel, Taylor Trio
27 minutes c.d.f. This is a crackerjack blackface act, just the kind needed to wake up a bill in this spot. Cut “You look like Bull Durham to me,” and business of being shot behind.
Al. Jolson
21 min. in one. Second week. Introduced some new material. Big advance hand and laughter and applause throughout. Stopped the show literally. His novel Trovatore burlesque and imitations went great.
Harry L. Webb
Black face in songs and monologue. His work was quite well received all the way through but his method is slow and times has a tendency to let the interest lag. His talk was not especially new but got by very well. He met with favor and finished strong. 23 minutes, street in one.
Quinlan & Mack
“The Travelling Dentist.” One of the best blackface acts in vaudeville and a big laugh from start to finish. Naturally a tremendous hit with our audiences. Own drop in 1. Time 22 min.
Al Jolson
Black face comedian. 18 minutes in 1. He ranks with the best single man acts. On next to closing this lone star in a long show of continuous hits, had to respond to a speech before our audience would let him go.
Clifford & Burke
This well known team of black-face comedians got along fine all the way through and finished strong, taking several bows. 20 minutes, street in one.
Kenney, Nobody & Platt
“Mr. Nobody.” Two men, one working blackface. The applause hit of the bill today. They are both good singers and their comedy is refreshing and I consider the act fully as good as when McGahan was a member. Street in 1. Time 14 min.
Laura Bennet
“The Black-face Girl.” Makes up as an octoroon, sings three songs and sandwiches in a little talk. Went only fair this afternoon. Street in 1. Time 14 min.
