Lightning Hopper

Comedy cartoonist. 8 minutes in 1. A fair opening act when salary is considered.

Lightning Hopper

11 min. in one. This man is the goods all right in his own caricature way and draws very fast. His line of talk is amusing and his caricatures are familiar. Each one of them gets a good hand. Those of President Taft and Hammerstein were especially fine and got big applause.

Huber

This fellow was born without arms and he does painting while holding the brush in his mouth. Considering his misfortune, he does very good work indeed, and, while I am not exactly clear at to whether the act will be suited for vaudeville or not, he certainly interested our audience this afternoon. I shall want to see him again, however, before deciding as to his adaptability for vaudeville. 18 minutes; can work entirely in two if necessary.

Hubert Deveau

17 min. in 2 – Crayon artist, who does exceedingly clever work, two of his drawings in particular being good enough to bear closer scrutiny than they can possibly receive in a theatre. He had a good arrangement of music and held the audience wonderfully well at the close of the afternoon show. In the evening he was one of the hits of the show, and recalled a couple of times. It is the sort of act that is wasted in a small place in a show.

Chalk Saunders

Crayon sketch artist. This man pays special attention to the comedy end of his work, and attempts but little artistic drawing. As a consequence he gets nearer to his audience than any man in the same line whom I have ever seen. In fact, he makes quite a hit in a very poor place on the bill, and, if I could do so to advantage, I would most certainly shift him down later. 8 minutes in two.

Allen Wightman

A young fellow who does a clay modeling act and closes with a large crayon drawing. He is about on the average of all the clay modlers [sic], but was handicapped a little this afternoon by having the lights over his easel go out, which destroyed the effect of his work somewhat. During his crayon sketch, he keeps up a running fire of stories, which, while not especially brilliant, make the act somewhat of a novelty and holds the attention of the audience. Can easily be classed as a good act. 12 minutes open in two, close in one.

Allen Wightman

12 min. full stage – This man does some artistic clay modeling and finishes by making a crayon drawing, during which he tells amusing stories. He is all right in a midplace in the bill here, created lots of laughter and got hearty rounds of applause for his clever drawings.

Bert Levy

Artist entertainer. Two and a half 15 minutes. Mr. Levy pleased as usual and is going to give us an entertainment Saturday morning for the poor children of the State.

Yost & Clady

Man and woman kitchen in three. 14 minutes. Very artistic comedy clay modeling act.

Makabini

15 min. F.S. This is a novel act. The stage setting represents and Arctic stage. He has two elevated frames to set off his ice sculptors, one on each side of the stage and the third one he assembles on a bench at the close. The man makes a good appearance and his sculptors are quite realistic. Has a patriotic finish which helps the closing applause. A fair opener.
