This is a “plantation style” act which is similar to that of the Dixie Serenaders. The group sings and does single and double dances.
Jones and Grant
Grant really dances while Jones takes a chance at anything in the stepping line to secure applause, his best “steps” being tumbles and falls.
Thomas and Ward
The act was fifteen minutes long.
A man and woman sing and dance with a few costume changes. The man does an imitation of George Primrose singing “Lazy Moon” and a soft shoe dance on his heels. He also does a wooden shoe dance followed by a clog on roller skates for the finish.
Cromby and Brown
The act was thirteen minutes long.
An African American man and woman sing and “talk”. The man works in eccentric makeup and the woman is the “feeder”.
Miller and Lysies
Miller and Lysies are an African American team who does some comedic talk and burlesque boxing.
Brown and Lawson
The act was thirteen minutes long.
An African American male and female team sing and do some comedic talk.
Rastus Brown
Sims and Thompson
The act was nine minutes long.
This male team sings and dances. The shorter of the two does all the “stepping”.
