Wentworth and Vesta
Two men, one as a clown and the other in grotesque makeup. Some good falls, finishing with a dog in a triple somersault. If both men dressed as clowns the dog could be eliminated from the act.
Cook and Sylvia
Cook added several new steps. He dances with an ease that a very few have who do his style of work. Sylvia has discovered the secret of reducing. She has never looked better in a new dressy dress and an almost trim figure.
George and Georgie
A man and a boy dressed like a girl. Did some acrobatics from the bounding net streched over a billards table. The boy finished with twenty-five consecutive somersaults. The man employs a seltzer bottle. Nothing is original. The man is dressed like a tramp and his makeup is poor. There is no reason why the boy should be dressed as a girl.
Johnson, Davenport and Lorella
Very nearly completed a ‘nip up’ in which a man springs to his feet from lying on his back with no assistance. It is the most difficult acrobatic feat. Has to be given as a finale or an encore but the men are tired at that point.
Three Musical Monarchs
The present costumes should be cleaned.
Prof. Dewar
Same animals used it Goolman’s dog and cat act. One dog is muzzled and the others should be. The trainer is brutal with the whip and uses it unmercifully at the least sign of inattention of the canines.
Norton and Nicholson
Shows the home life of a young married couple who work in department stores. The flat contains bath, dining room, bedroom and kitchen in one room. There is no wardrobe.
Allie Gilbert and Her Six Summer Girls
The girls are rather good looking and appear to be willing to take more trouble to be entertaining but they are not permitted. They wear fluffy dresses and change into Indian costumes
Mr. and Mrs. Chas S. Hammond
The jars are three canisters containing the ashes of the female character’s ex-husbands. They do not resemble jars used by crematories. They cause jealousy in a fourth husband and throws them at her near the end. Neither of the players can act.
Whalen and West
Miss West has a pleasing appearance and should be allowed another song by herself.
