Tom Almond

NH-3. Long Shoe dancer. This is the same fellow who has been over the circuit once before and made quite an impression by dancing in long shoes, which is something of a novelty. His act was affected this afternoon on account of the non-arrival of the pedestal on which he dances at the finish of his turn. It is a good act throughout. 7 min. in 2.

Howard and Burke

Two men in a talking act. One of them made up eccentric and the other straight. They have an original way of working, and while not particularly strong they go very well indeed, and I think will go much better when they get a decent audience to work to, the audience being very dead this afternoon. 13 minutes in one.

Lew Sully

Yyh-2. Vocalist and comedian, working in white face. He went very strong this afternoon, and held up the interest at the last end of the bill in good shape. My first impression was, that I was not going to like him in white face, but he seemed to go just as strong as he ever did in black, and I am going to let him continue that way, at least until I look him over again. 15 minutes, in one.

Lewis McCord and Co.

YYH-2. In an act entitled “Her Last Rehearsal”. This act is presented by two men and a woman, and is given on a bare stage with the walls showing, also the props and furniture. It is supposed to be a rehearsal conducted by an erratic stage manager, and the situations are really funny, all three of the people are clever and the act went with howls of laughter. 30 minutes. Full stage.

Moung Toon and Moung Chet.

MRR-2. Another novelty act and a good one. Two Burmese men introducing some really remarkable juggling work. They use first a bamboo ball and close with glass ones. The latter part of their act is simply marvelous. I do not think the audience fairly appreciates the difficulty of it but they held them to the finish of the act and got a good strong round of applause at the end. 12 minutes. Full stage.

The Salambos

Man and woman in an act introducing experiments with electricity. It is about the same sort of act that they did in this country about five years ago, but is valuable because it is a novelty. They introduce several new effects in it and the audience was deeply interested from start to finish. 23 minutes. Full stage

The Lasky’s

Man and woman in a musical act. They use nothing but cornets, bugles and post-horns, and introduce a little singing. The singing does not amount to very much, but there is an element of novelty in the musical portion and they make three changes of costume. Good act throughout. 15 minutes. Full stage, close in one.

Mosher, Houghton & Mosher

Three men in a comedy bicycle act, two straight and the other dressed as a tramp. The trickriding is exceptionally good and the comedian furnishes an acceptable foil to the straight riders. It is a very good act. The acrobatic work of the three men together on one wheel at the finish, went very strong. 15 minutes; full stage.

Tom and Laura Harris

This act will be all right if they had a little stronger comedy element in it. The man reads his lines much better than the average vaudeville performer, and the young girl is a very clever dancer, but the trouble, is, that there is 15 minutes of dialogue that is almost absolutely without comedy before the dancing comes in, and on that account makes it a little bit dreary. I shall only play that act this week at present. 22 minutes, open full stage, close in one.
