Frank McCrea

The World’s Greatest Rifle Shot, assisted by Roy Poole, the man with the iron nerve.  Well known act.  This act got big applause here last night, and it is the best act of its kind in the business.  Went big.   9 minutes, full stage.  Two shows.

Edmond and Lee

Coloured Entertainers.  This is a good three a day act, They both have good voices, and went very well this afternoon.  16 minutes in one.  Three shows.

Alexis & Schall

‘The Happy Pair.’ Man and woman in a crazy singing and dancing act. This is a good three a day act. They are both good dancers, and have fairly good voices. The man is a very good contortionist. Went very well. 11 minutes in two. Three shows.

Alvin Bros.

Comedy Ring Act. Two men, one working straight and the other eccentric. This is a fair act, and it is all right to open the show. The straight man does some good work on the rings, and the comedian is only fair. Went fair. 10 minutes, full stage, Three shows.

Basque Quartette

High-class French Operatic Vocalists. This act was really the hit of the show yesterday. Three men and one woman all having very good voices. The woman especially has a very fine voice, and they were compelled to sing their last song over twice. 13 minutes in one.

The Howards

Musical act. This is a very good act. First time I have seen this act, and is sure to make good in any of the houses. Plenty of good comedy all the way through and the music is also very good. Went very well. 12 minutes, full stage and close in one.

Browning and LeVan

‘The Politician and the Hebrew.’ This is a very poor act. The straight man is so not bad, but the comedian is no good. I changed them with Harry Breen. Only went fair. 13 minutes in one. Three shows.

Marcel’s Living Pictures

I was a little disappointed in these pictures, although Mr. Mr. [sic] Marcel’s pictures were good. There are to many pictures of men in bronze and marble statues and not enough pictures of women. I didn’t care so much for Mr. Marcel’s models, and I think he can do much better. These pictures are not like the old pictures we had a few years ago. 14 minutes, full stage.

Countess Rossi and Paula

High-class vocal operatic singers. This is one of the prettiest singing acts I have seen. Countess Rossi is very pretty, and her stage gowns are also pretty. She has a very good voice, and Paula also has a good voice. They open the act with a song by the Countess in which she does a little pantomime work, and Mr. Paula sits in the box and she sings to him, and this part of the act gets quite some laughs. Went very big. 16 minutes, full stage and close in one.

Herbert

This fellow does a fair act. He plays on different instruments which are supposed to be different things used in the dining table such as plates, knives and forks etc. It makes a good little act to open the show. Went fair. 12 minutes, full stage. Three shows.
