Morris & Allen

Hebrew comedians, singing Irish songs. Two men with very good voices and a limited amount of comedy talk which pleased most decidedly. An act that could easily hold a more important spot in the bill. 12 Min. in One.

The Frey Twins

Well-known wrestling act. A classic of its kind, which cannot help but give tone to any bill from the standpoint of athletics. 8 Min. F.S.

Miller & Lyle

Colored comedians, who have some fairly funny talk and finished with an extremely funny burlesque boxing dance. 11 Min. in One.

Emily Ann Wellman and Company

These people have a great novelty and they play it well. But they overlook a very great possibilities by not making this a burlesque play on the movies instead of a serious drama. The play itself is very crude and old-fashioned but the novelty gets it over. Held the audience intact. 22 minutes full stage.

Phina & Pix

Fortunately Phina does very little in the act thereby making it a good act, the work being done especially by the colored people. 12 minutes in one.

Irene Bordoni

Assisted by Anatol Friedland who replaces Melville Ellis who is ill. Of course that act worked under a handicap but the greatest stretch of my imagination cannot make me see that the act with Mr. Ellis is worth anything like the salary that they get. 18 minutes full stage.

Harry Holman & Co.

In Adam Killjoy. This is a rather funny sketch pretty well played by Mr. Holman who has a very indifferent support. A great deal of profanity had to be cut but the most offensive part of the act to mind is the palpable/scheme of advertising. This is the most flagrant thing of the kind that ever came to my attention. As he has played the sketch all over the country, I hadn’t any very strong grounds to stand on to make him cut the stuff out as he could easily show that it had been accepted in many of our houses. He plastered the stage full of advertising signs of various automobile concerns and finished with a motion picture that had no connection with the play whatever other than to advertise the Saxon Six. He admitted to me that he was collecting $50 this week from our local dealers. That, with what he gets otherwise and from the Saxon people, probably brings him up to $100 a week on advertising. I think this should be taken up with him before any new contract are made. 22 minutes full stage. Very short close in one.

Young & Waldon

This team is composed of Myrtle Young formerly of Moore and Young and Jack Waldron formerly of Lockett and Waldron. An act of singing and dancing, principally dancing eccentric order. Fairly good act. 10 minutes in one.

John B. Hymer & Co.

In “Tom Walker in Dixie.” Splendid comedy act with Mr. Hymer shining to his very best advantage. Held the audiences intact closing the show. Plenty of laughs all through with strong applause at the finish. Full stage. Opens in 15 minutes in one and goes to full stage and closes in 5 minutes in one. Could be worked in the middle of a bill as an act in one.

Bennet & Richards

Blackface comedians with a surprise opening and eccentric dancing of a unique kind of one of the men. These two features got the act over in first-class shape. 17 minutes. Open full stage. 3 minutes, close in one. 14 minutes.
