Dan Burke & Co.

It is a long time since a dancing act made as a big hit as this one did yesterday. It is splendidly presented and the dancing is above the average. The atmosphere in which it is presented also lends considerably to its success. 21 minutes f.s.

The Cavana Duo

Mad an [sic] woman in a medley of singing, dancing, instrumental music and wire walking; presented with an addition of comedy in a circus set. Very good act that made a hit. 12 minutes; f.s.

Suzzane Rocamora Co.

Five girls – 16 min. f.s Entitled “At the Ladies Club.” Story told in song with a few interpolated numbers. These girls sing well; put plenty of life in their work, closing with a military number in one. Act went good.

“Corner Store”

This act certainly make them laugh in spite of its company of about as bad a lot of actors as ever I saw outside of an Ardath act. I think they are better than he had to his “Farm Act.” But let this discourage you, the audience ate it up. 18 minutes f.s.

Sterling & Marguerite

A ring act that opens in an unusual way; with a pretty fair song by the woman and a suggestion of dancing, then a few minutes of excellent ring work of which there is but little. A fast snappy act. 8 minutes; open in one and close in F.S.

The Great Lester

From a ventriloquil stand-point in the business, his material is not as funny as it might be, but he made a hit just the same. 23 minutes in one.

Maleta Bonconi

Best of all the vaudeville violinists, made a bigger hit than on her previous visit. 18 minutes; playing in f.s. here; can work in one or two.

Burns & Brabito

These men gave us the first punch of the show; whether it was the contrast to all the mediocre material that preceded them or their own ability that caused them to make such a big hit, I can’t say. But, they were certainly a “knock-out.” 22 minutes in one.

Carlisle & Romer

Another act, which in a good show surrounded by plenty of comedy might have appeared to better advantage. The best thing about the act is its atmosphere. Mr. Romer is a violinist of ability but by no means a great performer. Miss Carlisle sings indifferently well. 13 minutes f.s.

Dong Fong Gue & Harry Haw

Chinese singers and dancers. The first part of their act is very slow but they pull up strong on the last half with their splendid dancing, while their costumes are also worth talking about. A hit. 17 minutes; half in one, last half. F.S.
