This man does some very remarkable shots and presents his act in a very clever manner; has some very bright patter, all of which helped to score a success. He also has quite a following evidently, judging by the amount of applause given him on his entrance. I had him in the middle of the show where he made good thoroughly. I am sorry to have to open the show with him. 11 mins. F.S.
A very pretentious offering with 35 people presenting selections from the various operas of Gilbert & Sullivan. I don’t think all had been done with the act that could be, but it gets over very well just the same. A good big flash, good chorus, and plenty of applause. 45 mins. F.S. —The Providence Journal this morning was enthusiastic in its praise —
The comedy opening of this act gets the audience in good humor for the mind reading. This portion of the act also containing a little comedy that went very well indeed. 20 mins. In one.
This is a particularly good act. I think it is the best trained seal I ever saw. Plenty of comedy in the act which pleased in particular. 15 mins. F.S.
A very pretentious act presented by several men and one woman. Good act, good singing, elaborate scenery. A very good feature that won unstinted praise and applause. 32 mins. F.S.
European violinist. With the exception of Quiroga, probably the beat violinist ever in vaudeville. Mme. Petschnikoff is making her first appearance in the varieties and scored strongly. Is too good for this position on the bill, but it was necessary to place her there for obvious reasons. 13 min. In one.
Harp and violin players. Two boys made up as street Italians. Their playing is fairly good, as is their comedy and they got over very well in this spot. Could be played No. 2 with satisfaction. 15 Min. in One.
Splendid contortion work by the young man and girl. A little foot ‘Juggling’ by one of the men and the fourth Le Groh brings a tray with glasses and bottles. The 3 Le Grohs would be better billing. Good act. 11 mins. F.S.
Nine men, members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, in a program of popular classics. Made the same big hit they did last year. 37 mins. Regular program 28 mins. 9 mins. devoted to encores.
Man and woman in an act which opens with costumes of 1860 and some dances of that period. This part of the act is very good indeed. They then drift into some comedy which was not so good part of which was eliminated after today. 16 mins. In two. After cut the act takes 12 mins.
