Four Huntings

This is a good act of the crazy variety. They do some very good tumbling and some rather good dancing. It is a bing-bang and slap-stick sketch and if not put on too late on the bill ought to make good thoroughly. I have them on at 2:53 and 8:13 in which position they are thoroughly all right. Good though not great, act. 18 min. open full stage, close in one, 2 shows.

Alfonso

Trapezist. This man was certainly a surprise to me, and I presume to everyone else. Never saw such balancing in my life. Stands on his head on a trapeze swinging at full force. His act is certainly thrilling one and the audience were quick to appreciate it. 8 min. full stage, 2 shows.

Van Fossen & McCauley

Black-face talking, singing and dancing act, peculiar style of eccentric dancing being the feature of their work. Good three a day turn. 17 min. in one, 3 shows.

Annie Abbott

Whatever business the show draws us this week it will be more due to the act of this girls than to all of the other acts combined. Her act was certainly a marvelous one and gave great satisfaction. 22 min. full stage, 2 shows.

Orpheus Comedy Four

Personally, I don’t care anything about these acts and I don’t think our average audience cares for that sort of slapstick comedy which is not very good and their singing only acceptable. They went pretty well this afternoon but I think we had a very easy audience as there is no school this week and there were a great many school children and young people in, with whom they found favor. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows.

Romani Trio

This is something of a novelty in the way of brass wind instruments. They dress neatly and the women are rather good looking and their music is quite acceptable. 11 min. open full stage, short close in one, 2 shows.

O’Rourke & Burnett Trio

This is the usual dancing act of O’Rourke & Burnett’s with the addition of their little boy who is the feature of the turn, and on his account they make quite a hit. 20 min. in one, 3 shows.

Miett’s Dogs

This is a very nice little dog act about the same as the usual dog act doing three shows. He has a nice neat apparatus and the dogs are bright and altogether they make good. 15 min. full stage, 3 shows.

Christian & Turner

Two coloured men who do a rolling-skate act, one of them doing comedy. The straight man is very good, in a small way, the comedian amounts to nothing. The act is a good one for an early place on the bill. 12 min. full stage, 3 shows.

McMahon & Chappelle

Man and woman who present a talking act in a very unusual manner and they have some new stuff and old jokes, so old that they are new, and that they get away with their work in great shape. The audience were highly pleased. I rather expected to see quite a little dancing which they didn’t have in their act, and in this way, I was mislead in the arrangement on the program. 18 min. in one, 3 shows
