Marion Lamont

Soprano vocalist. This lady is not a good vocalist and her personality is quite bad. We have many singers doing three shows for considerable less money and who give better value. 10 min. in one, 2 shows.

Harrigan

Tramp juggler. Harrigan had some new parodies but very little in the way of new talk although he went extremely well with the audience compared with the show generally. 18 min. in one, 2 shows.

William Harcourt & Co.

In “A Dakota Widow”. After all the talk which had proceeded Harcourt, he had a hard place to hold down but I didn’t see how I could have done better. He was simply swamped by what proceeded him, although he has a good act and good support if it were possible to get him on before nine o’clock. 23 min. in 3, 2 shows.

MME. Slapoffski

Soprano. This was the artistic hit of the show. There is no doubt that she will attract the music lovers and draw for us her full salary. I consider her the best vocalist we have had. 12 min. in one, 2 shows.

McIntyre & Heath

[Acting sketch] They got considerable advance applause but their work dragged. If they could only be made to realize the necessity of shortening their act and not tiring the audience, they would be far more valuable but it is impossible to make them shorten it, in the least. I was no more successful this time than on previous occasions. 36 min. open in one, close full stage, 2 shows.

Chas. Hawtrey & Co

I consider Mr. Hawtrey a very able comedian. The sketch is good, though not extremely funny, and the support better than I had been led to believe. I think he will draw us some money in the week, if it gets a little cooler here. 30 min. full stage, 2 shows.

Harry Brown

Colored comedian. This man always goes well in this house and made the hit of the show up to this point. He has some new songs which he renders in his well known manner. 15 min. in one, 3 shows.

Pewitt

The “Mysterious Face” I suppose might be the best term in which to describe this act. This feature didn’t get a great deal of applause but one could hear the murmurs around and I am inclined to believe it will create considerable talk and should be rated as a good act. 8 min. full stage, can work in two, 2 shows.

Lavine & Leonard

Comedy juggling act. This act may be called fair. The juggling is very ordinary and the comedy not funny until they get down to the burlesque automobile start in which they got a few laughs. 15 min. full stage 3 shows.

Henry Dixey & Co.

In “David Garrick on the ‘Art of Acting’”. Dixey was completely over the heads of the holiday crowd and the act fell rather flat but to me, his work is most artistic and his support thoroughly competent. The sketch was very dainty. I don’t believe any fault could be found with it with the regular patrons of our house. 23 min. full stage, 2 shows.
