Smirl & Kessner

In a comedy acrobatic act called the “Bell-boy and the maid”. This is a good act of its kind. The acrobatic end of it good. Dancing fair. Encore in one with the dog is very good, giving the act a strong finish. Time, 17 minutes, with 4 minutes in one.

Albertus & Millar

A comedy juggling act. Miss Millar is a very good cornet soloist. The club juggling is only fair, but some of the comedy is good. Full stage 14 minutes.

The Joselyn Trio

In “Their Pictures in the Air”. This act is nice to look at. They do nothing that is out of the ordinary but it pleases and that’s about all. Their paraphernalia is suspended over the center of the stage. They have a dark backing and work in white tights with the lights all out excepting a spot light which gives the act a very attractive appearance. Time, 14 minutes in full stage.

Emmett Corrigan & Co.

In his race track drama entitled, “Jockey Jones” or “The Day of the Handicap”. The scene is laid in a hospital and the sketch is of a melodramatic nature. There are four people in the cast and they are all good and the play is nicely done. The audience here didn’t enthuse over it very much, due to the fact no doubt that the people here are not very familiar with the race track terms. I believe the sketch will be better received in the east than here, however it’s a good act though nothing great. I have seen other that I prefer. 22 minutes, full stage.

Katherine Bloodgood

“The Contralto Singer”. Don’t like her selections. Think they are the poorest she has yet offered. However she is in good voice and was well received. Time, 10 minutes in one.

Adelaide Herrmann

“Queen of Magic.” This act is familiar to everybody on the circuit. She intends putting in one or two new tricks before the week is out, otherwise, she is doing the same thing she has done before. Time, 28 minutes, full stage.

Clement De Lion

Billiard ball and card manipulator. This man’s act showed to much better advantage here today than it did when I saw it in Philadelphia and I must admit that he is very dextrous with the billiard balls though not as clever with the cards as some others we have had. He didn’t make an especially big hit but went well with this afternoon’s audience. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows.

Robert Hilliard & Company

In his sketch called “Number 973”. This act is also familiar to every house on the circuit. He was well received here at both performances yesterday. Don’t think he draws any money, been seen here so often, however, his act is very good. The newspapers all speak very highly of it. Time, 22 minutes, full stage.

Sarel Johnson

A soprano of considerable ability. Her selections are well chosen. She gave a selection from “The Singing Girl”, then an Indian Kick-a-poo song, then a Medley, finishing with “Coming Thro’ the Rye” which went big. About 13 minutes in one.

Wood & Ray

In “A Bunch of Nonsense”. This act is also familiar to very house on the circuit. Was fairly well received though some parts of the act are rather slow and tame, however, their finish was good, which is really the best part of the act. They opened in one and closed in one and if necessary, can do their whole act in one. Time, 19 minutes.
