Charles B. Ward

The Bowery Boy. He is a capital singer, but has woven into his act too much chaff, to the exclusion of his music, which it is a delight to hear; always makes a hit here, particularly with the ‘gods’, to whom he appears to make a special overture. Works in one; time 16 Min.

Fanny Rice

Star Comedienna . Her First appearance at our house; her act is of a very novel character and is amusingly mysterious. The dark changes occupy considerable time however, which are a detriment. Miss Rice commences with a recitation of a horse race, but lacks the rhetorical power in this line that she possesses as a singer. I consider the act a pleasing one, but not of a superlative character. Full stage; time 18 minutes.

Mr and Mrs. Alfred Kelcy

In sketch ‘Uncle Phineas.’ This is a new presentation for this housel the stage set discloses two rooms and the farce gives a double part to Mr. Kelcy, who makes a novel change of costume before the audience, which makes a hit. The situations are laughable and the climax makes a decided hit. Full stage. The blood-curdling effected produced with a poke and coal skuttle in the murder scene is very funny. Time 20 minutes.

Flood Brothers

Acrobats and Pantomimists [sic]. A strong opening act; both very clever in their line, foot balancing being a feature. Their comedy work is exceptionally good, which is rarely the case with this style of performers’ laughter was spontaneous and continuous; open with full stage, close in one. Time 12 minutes.hh

Onro Family (s) A Night A Delmonico’s

Four men and a woman. One of the men does practically nothing, and the woman’s work don’t amount to much. The business is of a novel character and two of the party do some very clever work with table settings. Full Stage; fair closing out. Time 17 minutes.

Bill S. Clifford

Tailor-made swell. Good singer and dancer; repartee with audience makes a hit; makes the most of his song “Helen Gone”; a good all around dude. In one. Time 13 minutes.

Robert Hilliard

In “The Littlest Girl.” A pathetic story told in a few long speeches by Mr. Hilliard and his assistant Mr. Hurst. The work seems to be evenly divided between them, but the heroic is taken by Mr. Hilliard in a graceful society style very pleasing. Stage setting a feature Act is drawing a card aside from the actor’s local popularity. Full stage; time 23 minutes.

Lucy Clarke

Irish Contralto. Fine appearance; concert costume; splendid physique; Powerful voice, but selections not of the popular sort; if this were remedied, her voice would make a hit. Works in one time 15 min.

Howard & Bland

In Sketch “The Strange Boy”. Howard is an artist on the piano; his selections are pleasing and his technique for this sort of work is masterly. The comedy part is too long and fall short; so also the dancing act at the climax; this could be dispensed with two advantage. Full stage; time 32 minutes.

Beatrice Moreland

Society Monologist. Well dressed and makes good appearance; none of her story needs pruning. Uses the house man to carry on luggage. Her recitations in imitation of Ocean Steamer Concert shows some versatility and goes fairly well; has a few good jokes which is the best part of her act. All in one. Time 14 minutes.
