Hearn & Rutter

Dancing act. Two neat appearing boys in a lively dancing number that will get by nicely anywhere. Opened the show in good shape. Olio drop in 1. 11 min.

Rice, Sully & Scott

Comedy bar act. In grotesque makeups these three men put over the laughing and applause hit of the bill and closed the show in rattling good shape. They must have made a close study of the Three Ernests for there is nothing they have overlooked.

Bowman Bros.

“The Blue-Crane Boys.” A capital blackface act that is clean and is a good applause winner and will get over on any bill. Took several bows this afternoon and then had to make a speech.

“Snowed In.”

Another English comedy produced by Fred Ginott and Wal Pink. Idea is funny and keeps the audience laughing all the way through but the finish could be greatly improved. With a proper finish this act will get by in good shape. C.D.F. in 3. Time 27 min.

Joe Maxwell & Co.

“A Night in a Police Station.” The same act that Maxwell has been playing for the past three seasons but with practically a new cast, and incidentally, the best I have seen in the act. The girls are nice looking and have good voices and the men are acceptable both as to looks and voices. Maxwell gets a couple of good songs over. For a first performance today’s was quite smooth and act will improve as week progresses. 11 people, special set, 27 min; 5 min close in 1.

Little Florence Mascotte

Child impersonator. A resident here and received a good advance hand on her entrance. Her work is away from the usual child act and she gets her stuff over the footlights in good shape. She sings four songs and makes a change of costume for each. Also introduces a few minutes of monologue that gets many laughs. This is a good act for any manager who can play children without police interference. Olio drop in 1, time 18 min.

Brady & Mahoney

“The Hebrew Fireman and the Foreman.” A singing and talking act that went very well with our audience today due to the fact that the Hebrew impersonators are not particularly popular over here. They have a good line of talk and their songs and parodies got over in good shape.

Tennis Trio

Novelty juggling act. Two girls in a rather pretty opening act with special set. Manipulate tennis racquets, clubs and batons. Girls look nice from the front and work fast and the act is most acceptable in this spot. Special act in 3. Time 9 min.

McDevitt & Kelly

Eccentric dancers. As good a dancing act as we have played this season. The boys should confine themselves to dancing, however, and not try to either sing or talk. Street in 1, time 11 min.

Sully Family

“The Suit Case.” A typical Searl Allen act that gets over on account of the rapidity with which it is played and not through the acting of the members of the company. Really belongs in a much earlier spot. C.D.F. in 3, 17 min; close in 1, 5 min.
