Walters and Walters

Walters and Walters didn’t lose much time in getting the audience in the palm of their hands with their ventriloquial routine. This act carries two dummies including the baby dummy. Mrs. Walters works hard, with the baby dummy. The act received more applause than nay of the acts before them and were the hit of the first performance.

The Four Rennos

The Four Rennos, three beautiful girls and one woman do a very clever singing and dancing turn. The girls are good to look at and have grace and charm in their dancing. The woman principal of the act sings under a strain and wears costumes that she has outgrown. They close with another kind of a Start Spangled Banner. Of course, they were applauded.

Elsie Ridgley

Elsie Ridgley and company portrayed another on of those pretty stenos and rich brokers sketches which always win. Has a good plot and is well acted. Miss Ridgley is just the type for the role she plays and during her emotional scene she works hard.

Clifton and Kramer

Clifton and Kramer before a drop representing a department store, as a Swede and a saleslady with comedy talk, secured laughs.

Fagg and White

Fagg and White, black and tan mixed couple, scored as the show’s hit with good talk and singing voices. The female removes wig at the finish, successfully deceiving the audience, which was under the impression that she’s a man.

Four Ginger Snaps

Four Ginger Snaps, mixed couples with songs, dances and attractive setting, passes on the ability of the male section, the Russian dance scoring the heaviest.  The girls have looks, but failed to disclose more than chorus talents.

Harry Girard and Co.

For some unavoidable reason there was a stage wait between Swift and Daley and Harry Girard and Co. There are several new members in the company. The act falls short being a good on at this theatre, as it deals with a totem pole – and very few people know why a totem pole existed in the Far North. The male members have good voices and are all show men – but why play at the Hippodrome when people don’t seem to understand what it is all about?

Swift and Daley

Swift and Daley followed with a novel musical act. Swift plays auto horns on the table and some were concealed on his person. His wit is good, also his playing. Miss Daley wears pretty gowns, but has very little to do. They were easy with their encores, forcing several bows.

Bonner and Powers

Bonner and Powers were well liked. The female member is a beautiful blonde, who seemed tired out at the last show. She wears her costumes like the prima donna of a big production and dances very gracefully and sings very prettily – but the song she sings should be fast number instead of a ballad. It slows it slows up the act.

Mansfield and Riddle

Mansfield and Riddle, a mixed team, programmed to open, appeared second at the third show on Sunday, passed on dancing, following some inconsequential talk and singing.
