Olio. 14 minutes in one. This is their third or fourth appearance here and both Mr. Kelly and Miss Violet have had something new in the way of wardrobe each time. This is without a doubt the neatest act that we have ever played and the singing of Mr. Kelly far above the average. In all, it is one of the best applause getting singing acts that we have played.
9 minutes in one. Imitation of Vesta Tilly, Lillian Russell, Marie Dresser. I did not consider this a good act. Her imitation of Marie Dresser is about the only thing that saves her.
5 shows. 18 minutes. Yankee monologue. I consider this far above the average three show act. Chas. Ernest was taken sick Tuesday night had to close. We gave Mr. Stewart his place on the bill and he did fully as well as Mr. Ernest.
In ‘Always in the Way.’ 23 minutes. Full stage. This act is about the same as their former act except the changes in name. They went exceptionally strong with us owing to several verses in their song on the election. They were easily the hit of the show, which I credit mostly to the excitement during the election. Ordinarily, I would consider it only a fair act for an early place on the bill.
20 minutes, interior in a comedy sketch ‘A Friends Advice.’ This is a very good sketch and Miss Morris does very well in it. Her support, Mr. Arthur Hoops and Mr. Ph. Sheffield, are about the worst I have ever seen. I do not know what their former business was but whatever it was I feel sure they could do better at it than acting. In spite of the alleged actors, the act is going very well.
3 shows, 9 minutes in two. Singing and dancing. This is a very clever little act. I feel sure their girls could do their act in one which I think would improve it. I am going to advise them to do so. We have them on at 8:00 o’clock and they are doing very well. I think they are strong enough for the early part of any bill.
Blackface singing, dancing and talking act in one. 15 minutes. The talking in this act is very bad. Singing and dancing fair.
Ventriloquist in two. 16 minutes. Closes in one about four minutes. Mr. Duncan is going very well, this being his third appearance Pittsburgh in the last seasons and he is going fully as big as ever.
3 shows, 9 minutes in one. This young lady presents a very neat appearance and plays the banjo very well. She is above the average doing three shows.
11 minutes, Palace, full stage. This is a very good bird act. While not so many birds as some acts of this kind that we have played, I am sure it gives much better satisfaction than any bird act we have played.
