Hanlon Bros. and Co.

This clown and pantomime act called “Just Phor-Phun” was eighteen minutes long on the full stage and closed the show. The brothers do “double work” in front of a mirror, not to be confused with the Schwartz Brother’s “broken mirror” trick. One of the four Hanlons plays a hotel keeper and is the straight man for the group. This is their first showing in vaudeville.

Birdland

It is an operetta, with eleven people, all principals, the women representing birds, and wearing tights during the entire time. This helps to make it a “sight” act. The setting, an interior of a tree, has been well attended to.

Edouard Jose and Co.

The act entitled “The Father” was fifteen minutes long. Mr. Jose plays a father who finds his long lost daughter after receiving a letter from his estranged wife on her death bed. He procures a job as a copyist for a production that the daughter is acting in. He then has a chance to run lines with her and reveals that he is her father.

Andrew Robson and Co.

The playlet entitled “The Denunciation” was twenty minutes long on the full stage. Andrew Robson plays Mr. Kean, who clashes with the Prince of Wales (Walter Hitchcock) over the Countess Felsen (played by Mabel Carruthers).

Harry Hirsch

The act was fifteen minutes long. Hirsch is a cartoonist who works with colored pencils and has an African American assistant who he draws. He and his assistant attempt some comedy “comments” during the act.

Emalie Lea and the Lucifers

This act consists of two dancers, Miss Lea and Miss Lucifer, and Mr. Lucifer performing as a comedic contortionist. These performers present a mixture of dancing, comedy, contortions and semi-acrobatics.

The Musikal Girls

“The Musikal Girls” are a five piece parlour act made up of recruits from the Fadettes. Despite the awful set design and haphazard organization these women were able to pull together a solid performance, winning an encore and several bows from their fifth avenue audience.
