This sketch entitled “Waiting at the Church” was thirty one minutes long on the full stage.
The sketch opens on a simple and attractive interior setting. A Chinese servant is pouring his employer a drink after a long night out. A irate family of the bride enters, and it appears that the man has forgotten it is his wedding day. They do everything they can to get him moving, but to no avail. They eventually succeed because the bride assures him that she does not love anyone else.
Arthur Hopkins Co.
This sketch entitled “Hazel Weston Or ‘More sinned Against Than Usual'” was forty-five minutes long on the full stage.
May Malloy plays Hazel Weston, who transforms from a wart doctor in one town to a postmistress of another. She is accused of stealing four postcards by Luke Prentice (Erville Alderson), much to the dismay of his son (Ernest Leonard), her lover. The villain, Flugeon Smith (W.H. Forris) is followed around by a violin player, who punctuates his lines with music. Dick Lynch plays the Sheriff who does several illustrated songs between acts. “Ludicrous sketches” on the sheet illustrated his songs.
Clifford and Burke
Five Melody Maids and a Man
The act was sixteen minutes long.
Nellie Wood, Tom Penfold, and Hazel Wilbur do most of the solos on the piano. Four pianos are used in total and some of them seem to be out of tune. The girls are attractively dressed in gowns, however, which makes for a pleasing backdrop.
