Vaudeville’s Tiniest Headliner, and he proved to be a decided hit. All of his work went big and seemed to more than please. 12 minutes, olio in 1.
In “The Toll Bridge.” Rural comedy playlet presented by a very meritorious cast. The character old man is an excellent piece of work. The woman was strong with both the comedy and pathos. The act gave very good satisfaction and finished strong. Special set in 4, 18 minutes.
Straight singing act whose work was moderately well received and who finished fairly strong. Satisfactory. Olio in one, 11 minutes.
Two young men and a young woman, introducing concertinas and xylophones. The work was only fairly well received but is not a bad opener. 13 minutes, C.D.F.
“Modern Hercules.” The various feats of strength introduced by these men won unstinted approval. The act held the audience all the way through and finished strong. Special set in 3, 11 minutes.
Assisted by three young men, a tenor, violinist and ‘cellist. This is a straight musical act, and each of the numbers offered went pretty strong. Ms. Annis is easily the weakest part of the act, and if it were not for her associates there would nothing to it. The act pleased, however, and proved satisfactory. Finished strong. 17 minutes. C.D.F. in 3.
Monologist and comedian. He has a line of parodies and talk that apparently pleased pretty well. It was given a number of good solid laughs and the act finished moderately strong. Would term this about fair, and that’s all. 18 minutes, street in one.
Man and woman in a conventional comedy skit which won a considerable number of laughs and at times only went fairly well. Not a bad act nor yet especially good. Proved just about right for the place it had on the bill. 17 minutes. C.D.F. in 3.
Man and woman in a roller skating set, in which they introduce a lot of stunts that found favor, the act proving quite a good opener. Finished strong. 13 minutes, special in 4.
This act introduces a number of trained ponies, dogs and cats, and finished with a trained comedy mule. The attempts of the “plants” from the audience to ride this mule, and also to remain on their feet on the revolving table, proved a veritable howl, and I never knew of an audience laughing harder or seeming to enjoy more, anything, than they did this portion. The entire act, in fact, is satisfactory and proved to be an excellent closer. 13 minutes, landscape in 5.
