Gene and Katherine King

Gene and Katherine King closed the vaudeville with talk and songs. Their domestic arguments and the tea wagon employed were good for laughs. The violin was used as a prop for a second time on this bill when the man sang a number comparing a girl to a fiddle.

Erford’s Golden Whirl

Erford’s Golden Whirl is three women with a revolving apparatus on which they perform strong jaw and other feats in an ordinary manner. They are attractively attired and present a pretty sight act in special stage drapery.

Burt Adler

Burt Adler enters from the left wing announcing the next act to be a famous violinist whereupon the spot is thrown on the opposite side, and he enters with a violin and goes into a monolog while threatening to play the instrument which breaks at his attempt. Adler delivers his talk well, but needs newer material. He started slowly and worked up to good finish with a couple of gags that sounded new and a recitation in the vernacular of a baseball game representing the Kaiser as the pitcher striking the Allies out one by one until Uncle Sam’s doughboy stopped to the bat.

Martin and Elliott

Martin and Elliott, a good appearing male dancing team, opened. The boys have a neat dance routine embracing soft shoe and acrobatic, and for novelty do some steps on chairs.

Hugh Johnson

Hugh Johnson, billed as the “Charming Cheater,” possessing a fine personality, rang up a fine score with card tricks, clever palming and other familiar magic stunts which are handled in good showmanship style. The egg-in-the-bag business with two kid plants got the usual big laughs.

The Maxine Dancers

The Maxine Dancers, composed of four women and two men, went over strongly, principally on the exceptionally good Russian dancing of the men, who can hold their own with the very best in this particular brand of stepping.

William O’Clare

William O’Clare and girls offered a pleasing routine of Irish songs O’Clare plays a miniature organ and displayed a good voice in several numbers sung. His yodeling drew the biggest applause. The girls assist in a small way and otherwise lend atmosphere to the setting employed if an Irish village. Charles Rice and Ruthie Francis register strongly with a connected routine of talk, songs and dances.

Bobby Van Horn

Bobby Van Horn score a fine hit with comedy numbers and ballads with recitation patter interpolated put over in capable style. He also got good laughs with talk and stories.

Clara Theodore Trio

Clara Theodore Trio started the vaudeville with feats on the rings and trapeze held by the stout woman while suspended on her knees from an upper bar. The ease with which the woman supports her male partners and some good strength stunts drew solid.

Frank Juhaz

Frank Juhaz billed as the gabby trickster in “Runkology,” closed the vaudeville. He is assisted in his card tricks by a big fellow who makes funny faces and otherwise acts foolish for laughs. Frank Juhaz is doing the routine seen here last season at the Orpheum by Steve Juhaz.
