Miaco Pantomime Co.

Went bad. Acrobatic and trick hose act by four men. The acrobatic work is good and gained some applause but the comedy is of little account. Act dragged at the matinee (and was but little improved at the night show.) One man does a tramp and the others are waiters, the scene representing the front of a series of buildings upon the street. The act was given its first showing here and may develop into something worthy but as given today will never add weight to any bill. Time 17 Minutes. Full Stage.

Jack Lyle

Went well. Monologist and singer in eccentric make-up. Line of talk good and well put over. Songs full of humor. In One. Time 10 minutes.

Usher & Whitcliffe

Went well. A vocal comedy offering for man and woman. “The Ranch Girl.” Both dress in western costume. Songs particularly well chosen and well rendered. Dialogue is good. An act with a plot that is not overdrawn. Full stage. Time 12 minutes.

Queen Mab & Casper Weiss

Went well. Lilliputians in songs with changes of costume. Well dressed. Man is something of a comedian and the woman is quite a singer for a midget. Act closes with a dance. In one. Time 12 minutes.

Smith & Harris

Went well. Comedy skit for two men, entitled “Dr. Knott.” One man works straight and the other in black face. Most of the dialogue is old (new to this generation) but it is well put over and wins lots of laughs. Act is very reminiscent of some of the old “nigger acts” yet it went with lots of life. Full stage. Time 15 minutes.

Ray Samuels

Went fair. Monologue and singing comedienne. Talk not so much, but gets by. Songs only fair. In one. Time 10 minutes.

Kartello Brothers

Went well in evening. Their wrrk [sic] is clean cut and a big variety of evolutions with hoops and clubs are cleverly executed. Both men work straight. Full stage. Time 11 minutes.

Bush Family

Father and four children, two sons and two daughters in a nice musical act. Well dressed. Classical numbers for the most part with a string instrumentation, cornets used only in closing number. A clean act and one that will please any audience of music lovers. Full stage. Time 10 minutes.

Harry Gilbert

Went big. Monologuist [sic] and singing comedian. Songs went well and the talk, though rusty, scored. Works straight. In one. Time 14 minutes.

The Pelots

Went big. Comedy juggling act by man and woman. Both good jugglers and the running line of talk during the work goes immense. Woman works straight, the man using a “silly kid” make-up. Trick of catching apple thrown from the audience on a fork held in the mouth is well worked up and gets ‘em going. Full stage. Time 11 minutes.
