Went well. Mr. Henson is the man who accompanied Peary to the North Pole and offers an illustrated talk on incidents of polar exploration that is good entertainment. First appearance and should improve as the week goes on. Ought to prove a drawing card. In one. Time 11 minutes.
Went well. Hat jugglers and both men are clever. Tall and straw hats used in all sorts of feats, notably good being the spinning of the straws out over the heads of the audience only to have them return to the stage. Full stage. Time 9 minutes.
Went well. Man and woman in singing, talking and dancing. Costume changes. Both good workers and full of life and ginger. Man’s last costume an eccentric one, copied from that of the “Fairy Queen” in the “Gingerbread Man”. Well dressed and well done throughout. In one. Time 13.
Went fair. Well trained posing and talking dog. Tricks well carried out. On a different line from other dog acts. Act placed here last season and is identically the same as then given. Full stage. Time 16 minutes.
Went big. Contortion act and the best and most elaborately mounted of any ever seen in this city. Ferry’s work great and applauded frequently. Carries three drops and uses special light effects. Costumed in the guise of a frog. Full Stage. Time 12 minutes.
Went fair. Singer, talker and dancer. Material not of the best yet it gets by. Songs and dancing on par with the talk. Eccentric costume. A red suit, rather the worse for wear. In short the act reminds one of an olio act from the cheaper grade of burlesque show. In one. Time 9.
Went well. Ventriloquial act entitled “On the B. & O.” Special scene of a waiting room in a railroad station. Nine dummies are employed and a walking figure. This was the first performance of the act and while there was some confusion as was to be expected, it was well done in the main. Miss Acker is very clever as a ventriloquist and the dialogue is full of pith and point. The laughs come frequently. There is a foundation in act for something good to be developed and with attention should result in an act worth while. Full stage. Time 19 min.
Went big. Eight Japs in a series of stunts common to all acts of the kind. All the work is nicely done and the costuming is, as usual, very elaborate and striking. The act carries a drop for a background, which creates no end of talk because of its beauty. The act throughout is strong and scored the biggest hit of anything ever seen here. Time 15 minutes.
Went well. Singing and dancing and monologue. Talk is very good, and well handled. Songs, fair. Dancing (clog) good. Works in one. Time 13 min.
Went well. Comedienne. Sings three songs, furnishing her own accompaniment on an organ for the second, changes costume. Works in one, and two. As very good act. Time 10 minutes.
