Harry Thorne & Co

C.D.F. 25 minutes Their old time sketch “An Up Town Flat” which seems to yet to have the power to amuse and produce laughter. To me they did not inject the same amount of ginger into their work that they previously did but it can be said to have gone well this afternoon. 3 shows.

Pierce & Maizre

Drop in one. 15 minutes. Refined Singing Act. Neat appearing and well dressed couple. The girl displaying some pretty dresses. Their singing is not at all wonderful, but the selection of their songs and the manner in which they land them closed them to very good applause and can easily be called a real good act from a 3-a-day standpoint. 3 shows.

Milt & Maud Wood

Drapery in one. 13 minutes. Singing and Dancing sketch. Very slow and quiet until Milt Wood does his clog shoe dancing, which he does in the most excellent style and earned round after round of applause. For an act so early on the bill they went decidedly strong and can hold down a better place. 3 shows.

Sullagley Brothers

Garden in 4. 7 minutes. Bag Punchers. Two young men who work very mechanically in this class of work which is not appreciated by our people. Closed to light applause. 3 shows.

Frank Bush

Drop in one. 21 minutes. The only reception accorded any performer to-day. Bush knows how to tell his stories and takes his audience in to his confidence and makes them understand every word he says. All his stories were well received to-day and at the close earned a couple of recalls, closing to very good applause. 2 shows. Good for us at any time and always a drawing card.

Nora Bayes

– Drop in one. 14 minutes. Comedienne and Vocalist. Making her first appearance here. The possessor of a good voice and closing with two really old songs she was able to interest her audience, and by the gingery way in which she worked, gained really good applause. She has rather a forward style of work, not particularly pleasing to an older theatre goer. Indeed I would say that she is very much accustomed to working clubs and concerts of that order. The style she portrays is not of the refined variety we aim at. Closed to good applause and earned a couple of recalls. 2 shows.

McIntyre & Rice

Drop in one, 20 minutes. A nonsensical conglomeration of ideas and talk, in which McIntyre posing as an Irish comedian shows that he is not one. Their work is able to arouse considerable laughter, but in my opinion they are overpaid and could only be rated as good in the 3 a day section. Closed only to light applause. 2 shows.

May Evans

Drop in one, 9 minutes. A whistling soloist and imitator, well known by many trips over the circuit. Her work has not lost what value it previously had. In fact I may say she seems better able to amuse and please her audience and closed to decent applause. 3 shows.

Golding

Garden in 3, 13 minutes. A neat appearing local boy attempting the juggling of some of the best we have had here. Was somewhat nervous this afternoon and fell down on two or three tricks. His general work however, is lively, pleasing and acceptable, enabling him to close to good applause. 3 shows.

Ingram & Neale

Drop in one, 14 minutes. A local boy and girl about 15 or 16, singing and dancing, opening in Chinese costumes, then to straight. A cute girl, possessor of a good and highly pleasing voice. They dance well, showing dancing school training and able to close to good applause. 3 shows.
