Ned Wayburn’s Vaudville Attractions

A complete melodrama in two scenes with an effective and exciting finale for each. The second scene shows a very realistic horse race. The scenes are laid in the jockey’s room and the stretch. A jockey is induced to sell out the race but his plan is foiled by his half-brother who is also a rider. Taylor Granville as “Crook” Chambers wins the honors of the piece. Dixie Gerard as the owner of the stable failed to play with force or power. Mechanically the horse race is witout fault.

The Red Raven Cadets

Climbed a papier mache wall to the accompaniment of smoke. The red and gold of the uniforms is dulled by wear. Practice has made perfect of these drills

Fred Walton and Company

His comedy is the sorty to appear to all floors. Will Archer replaces the child used in the act suprisingly well. The most noticeable difference was the way the bed sagged when “Cissy” was tucked in.

James J. Corbett

A young man has remained away from home for a long poker session. He returns late in the night with his winnings nervous about a man who has been following him. He ecounters a nurse who was called to attend to his mother-in-law and mistakes her for a female thief and thinks she is trying to give him knock out drops to take his money. Miss Tully is miscast as the nurse. She should be more nervous and assertive.

Three Keatons

“Buster” the human mop. This youngster is tossed around stage without damage to much else than his clothes.

Junie McCree and Company

Harriet Ross and Zeila Frank play an adventuress and and maid. John P. Wade plays a victimized lover.

Charles E. Evans & Co.

Two men were suppose to be on a ship which was lost, however they were on a different excursion and come home ignorant to their wives in tears. They have to build up a string of lies to cover their deception until the ship arrives, late into port. There is little action in the play, mostly just the men standing centre stage while their wifes stand to the sides.

Ford and West

One of the teams that are rapidly dissapearing from Vaudville

Cabaret

Well trained dogs small enough to work on a table. The somersault dogs are best. The high jump should be cut down because no dog made the jump clean. Special tricks are well handled. The man needs to stop wearing a straw hat and the woman a dress that looks like a spangled Mother Hubbard wrapper.
