Anna Laughlin

Something more than a pair of pink stockings, a kneww dress and a few curls are required for a vaudeville “kid” which will pass. Anna Laughlin in her reappearance has revived the “Wizard of Oz” character at the uptown Keith-Proctor theatre this week and falls short in everything else.

Mayme Gebrue and Company’s “June”

Miss Gehrue is by far the best and greatest part of the performance, including the piece itself. She has never looked prettier than she does now in a cowgirl dress, and the song “San Antonio” followed by a short but spirited dance were the only reminders of her previous specialties.

The Francelias

A man, woman and boy compose the troupe of strong people, the two latter acting in the capacity of assistants only. The man is a well-built, muscular sort of chap resembling La Veen, of La Veen and Cross, in appearance, and he graciously refrains from “posing” in a cabinet. Heavy objects, including cannon balls, are juggled, and a few of the simpler tricks shown by others are given.

The Stunning Grenadiers

Everything that the modiste and costume designer can do toward the dresising of a “girl act” has been done for this one. No more gorgeously costumed offering has been hereabouts this season.
