was given a warm reception on her appearance and the applause continued at
intervals through the act. Miss Wake
field was forced to come back to the
piano, and then bow her thanks over a
huge basket of greens all bedecked with
Irish flags. A pleasing part of Miss
Wakefield's success must have been to
her that it did not come from one portion
of the house, but from all over, and
the applause had the solid ring.
