Valeska Suratt & Co.

28 min. F.S. This act booked in at short notice to replace Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Castle owing to the latter’s illness, was a solid hit. The act differs only from that offered by Miss Suratt on her last visit in that she is supported by a new company. The routine is the same, consisting of songs and dances with Miss Suratt usually the principal, but receiving ample assistance from the members of her company, the dance by Honey & Honey scoring individual success. Miss Suratt as usual displayed a number of striking costume creations. ‘The Moth and the Flame’ is a new addition to the act danced by Miss Suratt and Melvin Stokes is a very beautiful and effective number. Scored an unmistakable hit, several bows being taken at the finish.
