Oliver White's "Enter a Stranger."
There is generally
something lacking In all the White playlets.
He appears to be constantly straining
for the unusual, and In so doing he doesn't
create characters true to lifeāor, at least,
true to stage life. Invariably he aims to surprise
his audiences at the finish. That's all
right once In a while, but as a rule they like
to be let Into the plot, even If the characters
on the stage are not. Mr. Haines' supporting
company isn't the best.
