The only
question existing is why does one girl
wear near-silk stockings while the other
has on plain cotton? It can't be that one
receives more salary than the other, for
an unequal division would be manifestly
unfair, and the hosiery doesn't look to be
very old, but the fact remains. An adjustment
of this most important matter in
the Courtney-Dunn act might be had by
splitting up those stockings, allowing each
girl to wear one cotton and one near-silk.
At least that would make the audience
wonder.
