For
her opening number she has a "Dottie
Dimple" number that is the cream of
burlesque characterization, both in dressing
and handling.
To the initiated
Miss Hite makes some of the stuff
screamingly funny in her eccentric way.
"When, in the course of human events,
Mabel Hite conies around to play Hammerstein's,
where the "honk-honk" of the
taxicab is faintly heard above the orchestra,
and the audiences are wise to the
subtleties of Broadway types and the refinements
of stage slang, she is going to
be one large and delighted hit."
