Singing.
Lillian Leonhard made no costume changes. She sang three songs, twisted her hands nervously, and didn't move an inch from the spot where she began singing. Miss Leonhard sang mechanically, her voice Monday night sunding harsh and metallic, although at times she reached her high register with ease. Miss Leonhard's song routine is all wrong for vaudeville. The sameness of the serious numbers doesn't help her and there's not sufficient animation in her vocal pyrotechnics to help her climb. Miss Leonhard's nervousness was conspicuous in each number.
