Miss Gordon had ample opportunity to display her beauty in a handsome gown.
The comedietta, "The Pink Nightgown," was written by Kinsey Piele. The story is about Gabrielle (Gordon) who enters the house of Lord Arthur Tollenbach (Harrison Hunter), her former husband, where she discovers that the gentleman's room is filled with photographs of a woman who signs herself "Ducky." This stirs the heart of the old flame. She confronts her former husband with a tempest of anger when he finally comes home. Later on she finds a pink nightgown and slippers in one of the rooms and her jealousy becomes greater. She turns the tables and the man grows jealous. There are several wordy encounters and the man finally discloses that "Ducky" is his sister. A reconciliation takes place. There is a side incident in which the woman is accused of being an accomplice to a pickpocket because she had to hire a "dip" to get the keys to her former husband's house.
The sketch does not call for any great acting on the part of the trio. The Scotland Yard man, Harvey, is a blemish to the act. The meager comedy might be better if it was put over with more emphasis. The act is well staged and produced. Miss Gordon's fame may carry it some way on the big time, but that is about all.
