Mr. Welch performed his comedy sketch "Ellis Island." He portrays an Italian labourer who has saved up enough money by toiling with a pick and shovel here to bring over his wife and baby girl from the old country. The scene is laid in the immigrants room at Ellis Island.
Mr. Welch's acting won for him tremendous applause.
In Italian character work he is at his best.
