Frank Fogerty, next to closing, scored a substantial success. There is a truly Irish subtlety about his wit that is immensely effective.
Fogerty is one of the few single talking comedians who don't support the popular theory that "after all the old stuff goes better." His early talk is as bright as it is new, and, what is more to the point, it scores with certainty. No swifter play of delightful humor has been heard this long time than the collection of miscellaneous yams with which "The Dublin Minstrel" opened his specialty. The political speech at the close was an applause getter.
