Don Pasquale

This is my newest production and one in which I take the most pride. This is a condensation of a famous Grand Opera, but unlike most Grand Operas, the story is farcical. There is a large element of comedy which went well with the audience and which is well played by the actors. The music is most melodious and I am very proud of the four singers that render it. By the applause which was given this afternoon I will say that the act is a welcome addition to vaudeville. It contains the element so desirable nowadays called class. I have spared no expense in mounting, giving it two beautiful sets and very handsome costumes. Today it ran 35 min. I intend to bring it down to 30 min., possibly a trifle less when it should go even stronger than it did.
