Binns, Binns and Binns

Their first appearance here and the language used in some of the reviews “were a riot”. Their line of comedy and most excellent music made a strong appeal resulting in a decided hit. Full stage, closing in one.

George Austin Moore

His songs and stories were of a good, clean character and he held this position satisfactorily. In one.

Wentworth, Vesta and Teddy

Two acrobats who are all right, but the feature of the offering is an acrobatic dog, about the best we ever played. Full stage.

Queen Lil’s Royal Hawaiian Troubadours

Entire act in one. Presenting the sweet and simple melodies and music of the far away islands. One of their numbers is Queen Lil’s own composition, written when compelled to leave her throne. Introducing Kamakee, one of the two surviving “Chanters used to invoke the many gods of the natives during religious festivals. They were dressed in native costume, sang sweetly, played instruments splendidly and made a pronounced hit.

Nat Leroy and Minnie Woodford

Can do entire act in one. Eccentric comedy duo. LeRoy has some unusually clever material which went well. Would be stronger along as the woman weakens the act. Pleases very much and a little trimming here and there would make it a valuable act.

Winschermann’s Bears

They did some very clever work indeed and never having played a trained bear act it was watched with close interest and received very considerable applause.

Gus Edwards

Assisted by his brother at the piano, a girl in a box and mite of a boy in the audience he most pleased and delighted our people will draw money all week. Full stage, closing in one.

Violet Black and Co.

“In the Subway”. Good special setting and clever effects. Our criticism is that they overact and make of it more of a farce comedy, which it is not, than a straight comedy. Full stage.

Leo Carrillo

Chinese stories, mimicry etc. Has a nice personality and his performance has more or less merit. In one.

The 5 MacLarens

A dancing and musical number of very considerable merit. Could be placed in a better position on bill. Full stage, closing in one.
