In “Shanghaied.” 6 people. This is their new offering and it went even better than their act of last season. It is constructed on similar lines to their old act and when it is running a little smoother will prove good amusement. They introduce a little of everything including some grand opera music at the finish. Several quick changes of scenery during the presentation of the act. Own set, full stage. Close in 1, 6 min. time 24 min.
Eccentric comedian. Added to the bill tonight to allow another act in 1. His songs and patter went well and held the spot in good shape. Street in 1. Time 10 min.
In “Life on an Ocean Way.” Called a nautical skit whatever that is. Carry a special act and sing several songs, pull a few gags and so some excellent dancing. The storm effect at the finish could be well eliminated and almost the entire act done in 1, except the opening. Own set in 4. Time 28 min.
“A Bit of Musical Caviar.” Man and woman in a very pleasing singing sketch. Both have good voices and a good routine of songs, closing with a grand opera travesty that went well. Did a 5 min close in 1 tonight which helped out. C.Fcy in 3. Time 14 min.
Blackface musical comedians. An old-fashioned act of the type that used to be furnished for the children’s entertainments in the town hall on the 4th of July. Pleased in a mild way. C.D.Fcy in 2. Close in 1, 5 min.
Good comic film.
The usual Japanese tumbling and equilibristic work which is good but the hand walking up a set of steps is wonderful. Full stage.
“The Little Sunbeam.” A farce and a good one. The scene is laid in a Pullman sleeper and the situations and line of talk are very funny. In one and a half.
“From Uncle Tom to Vaudeville.” Two men and two girls in a minstrel act with some pretty good dancing and pretty good business. With this act the show started all right. In one.
An exceedingly interesting film.
