“Joyland.”

With Hazel Williams and Billy Seymour. Gus Sohlke’s familiar girl act with a new girl in place of Clara Belle Jerome. Miss Williams was suffering from a severe cold and extreme nervousness this afternoon which made it impossible for her to full justice to the part. Act went well with the audience, however, and seemed to please. Own set in 4. Time 22 min.

Clinton & Nolan

“The African Dodger.” One man working straight, the other blackface. Opening talk is a trifle old and should be brightened up with new material. The bulk of the comedy is to be had when the audience start throwing baseballs at the “dodger.” Went well with today’s audience. Own drop in 1. Time 15 min.

Siebert & Lindley

Comedy sketch, “Her Own Mother.” A farcical act with three people story is amusing and act is well played and seemed to amuse today’s audience. Not a pretentious thing but would get over in this spot in the “big” small-time houses.

The Rosies

Man and woman in a novel musical act in which they play various instruments, at the same time juggling huge spheres. Act is well dressed and a distinct novelty and made a good opening act. Open in 1, 2 min, then to 3, 9 min, close in 1, 3 min.

Stanley, Edwards & Co.

“Visions in Marble.” Two men and two women in a statue posing act that received hearty applause. Would prefer them earlier in the bill and have a strong comedy act to close with. Poses are well executed and act should prove a good feature anywhere. Can set in 4. Time 17 min.

Lydia Barry

Comedienne. Miss Barry received a warm welcome on her entrance this afternoon and she thoroughly succeeded in keeping the audience well entertained. Her songs went over in great shape and she took several bows at the finish. Olio in 1. Time 10 min.

Grayce Scott & Co.

In “The Divorce Dinner.” This is a condensed version of “Divorcons.” I have never yet encountered a vaudeville act made over from a successful play that seemed to land. In my opinion the act is too talky, lacks action and needs stage management. It might appeal to the “high-brows” in some of the big cities where Miss Scott has some drawing power. Here it passed as an incident of a good bill. Miss Scott is very clever and had surrounded herself with a capable company and with a vehicle written to supply her talents out to be a welcome addition to vaudeville but not with “The Divorce Dinner.” C.D.Fcy in 3.

Four Solis Brothers

Mexican Marimba Quartet. A very classical musical novelty that should prove a feature of any program. Went very big this afternoon and had to response to a couple of encores. Could work in 2. Fcy in 3. Time 16 min.

Geo. Felix & the Barry Sisters

“The Boy Next Door.” A merry hodge-podge of stuff that woke the audience up after the tiresome act ahead of it. Took Felix a few minutes to get the crowd but he had easy going after that. The girls look nice and introduce several pleasing songs. This act ought to be a sure-fire comedy hit on any bill. Fcy in 3. Close in 1, 4 min.

Sherman & Rose

“The Bridegroom and the Best Man.” Two men, one of them tom-boy with quite a following here. That fact alone keeps the act in the bill for the rest of the week. Act looks to me like a couple of beginners. If they really expect to succeed they should spend a couple of years in the picture shows, occasionally visiting regular vaudeville houses to pick up some more material. They have not even been good choosers. One of the men has a fair singing voice and this really saves the act as their talk is terrible. Street in 1. Time 15 min.
