Ubert Carlton and Kathleen Kay

Singers and dancers. 15 min. Olio in one. I understand that this act has only been working a few weeks. I have them on No. 2 and they are going very big for us. I am sure after they have played a few more weeks that they will be strong enough for any place on the bill. (Toledo)

Three Ernesto Sisters

Slack & tight wire performers. Wood. Full stage. 11 minutes. These three ladies are well dressed, work fast and really get more out of the act than most other wire acts. They are opening the show and taking several bows at each performance. I think it is a great wire act. (Open)

Les Gougets

13 minutes. Interior. I understand that this is the first appearance of this act in the country. While it is a novelty, and the male member of the team does some very difficult playing on unusual instruments, still it very crude and I could not recommend it for any later than No. 3 on the bill. They, of course, will improve with experience.

Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Emmett

Ventriloquist. 16 minutes. Special. This is a very ordinary act. As it was presented Monday afternoon it was really too strong for a burlesque audience and we were forced to make at least ten cuts. The act could only be classed as fair.

Stuart Barnes

24 minutes. Olio. Mr. Barnes’ act is practically the same as we received from him during his last engagement, except in addition, one new song. However, he is the same big hit that he has always been and held the stage for 24 minutes.

Chadwick Trio

20 minutes. Interior. Close in one. The comedy of Mr. and Mrs. Chadwick is about the worst I have ever seen. The girls with her eccentric make-up and dancing make the act a big hit, being compelled to take bows at every performance.

Mabel Taliaferro & Co.

18 minutes. Full stage. Interior. “The Return of Tori San.” Nothing startling about this act. However, Miss Taliaferro is a clever actress and the sketch is a little different from anything we have played. While not a big hit, she is going very well.

Simone De Beryl

12 minutes. Full stage. This is a posing act with the best lantern effects I have ever seen. While this is a very good act, I consider it well paid, even at the reduced price at which they are paid now.

Homer Lind & Co.

22 minutes. In “The Opera Singer.” Full stage. Interior. Mr. Lind is doing very well for us. His act is a little different from the usual run of sketches and he is a big hit with his singing numbers.

Francis Yates

16 minutes. Female impersonations. Special velvet drops. Full stage. The material Mr. Yates is using is far from being good. His female voice I consider very good and his change to evening clothes, finishing with an Irish song, is done very well, but the act is not a hit and I would not feel like recommending it with his present.
