Time of act 20 minutes, full stage. Interior, close in one about six minutes in their comedy – ‘Going Abroad.’ This act is going very well with us except the close in one which I think hurts the act. We are compelled to use them in one this week, otherwise would have asked them to cut their work in one out.
Comedy musical and singing act. 21 minutes open full stage, close in one about 7 minutes. Miss Latona’s singing was the hit of the act. She is one of the cleverest in this line that we have ever played. The act as a whole is very big and I feel sure that on a return they would draw some money. I consider it one of the best acts in the business.
In ‘Frederic Lemaitre’ 30 minutes, full stage. Assisted by Frank Willard and Laura Hope Crewes. This is a very good sketch and very well done, the work of Mr. Miller being much better than that which we are in the habit of seeing in vaudeville. I am sure that he is going to inprove [sic] our business.
20 minutes, open in 10 in one, close full stage. Eight young ladies playing brass and reed instruments and finish with their electric dance which is very effective. This act is much improved since we last played it and I now consider it a very good act. It is going very big with us.
22 minutes in one. Special drop which, by the way looks very cheap. Chevalier was a great surprise to us. He did not increase our business. While, of course, the weather was hot, our business should have been big owing to the extra advertising given to this attraction. Chevalier did not go big here, in fact he just about got away, everything on the bill going much stronger than he did. Personally, I cannot see why he should go big. While I admit he is not a good actor, I do not consider him great-neither do our patrons.
18 min, bare stage. This act is well known to every one in the circuit. I do not think we want to repeat this sketch. This is the third appearance here and each time he has brought us the same sketch with a very bad Romeo. I think Mr. McCord would be very much better if he would spend a little more money for the male member of his company. He is about the worst I ever saw on any stage.
Monologue in one, 23 min. This act is entirely too long. If it was cut to about 8 min. it would be a very good act but Mr. Wood insists on staying on the entire time, which in my opinion murders his act. I would not want to play him again unless he would make the change I suggested.
20 min, interior in three, sketch. Journeys End in Lovers Meeting. To our great surprise this act was not a drawing card and they just about got away with the sketch. There is nothing to the act that would give either Mr. Kelcey or Miss Shannon a chance to show their ability.
18 minutes in three, close in about four min. Burlesque Magic. This act only went fare with us and would not care to play them on return, unless they get another act. This is their third appearance here and our patrons are about tired of them.
And his eight Lulu girls assisted by Mr. Alfred Fisher in ‘The Police Inspector.’ Mr. Dailey does not seem to go very big with our audience. While the act is not great, I cannot say that it is bad and I really think that our patrons expect too much from him. Our business this week, in spite of the very cold weather, is very good, it being the biggest week we have had for some time so I feel sure that Mr. Dailey is responsible for some of this business.
