15 minutes in three. They have about half the act we expected and it is certainly a disappointment to us as we have played them several times before and they were always a big hit. They have eliminated the colored pictures and give us nothing but the bas-reliefs. While this end of the act is as good as formerly, the act as a whole does not please our audience nearly so well as during their other engagement. We would not care to play the act as it now is, a return at any figure.
Trick jumper. This act we were compelled to cancel. Mr. LeRoy failed in every trick which he attempted and while as a rule we do not cancel acts even when they are bad, we were compelled to do so in this case as Mr. LeRoy did nothing for us but break eggs all over the stage.
Olio in one. 14 minutes. Singing and imitations. Miss Janis’ imitations of Vesta Tilley singing “In the Pale Moonlight” is very good and her imitation of Eddy Foy is great. Miss Janis is on at 10:30 at night and is going very big. We consider her among the best single turns in the business.
25 minutes. This is one of the best acts of the kind that I have ever seen. Operated by six people. This is a novelty and one which I feel sure helps our matinee.
27 minutes. Full stage, interior. There were several things in Mr. McAvoy’s act which we consider objectionable. We, of course, cut them out but Mr. McAvoy will bear watching at all times with his present act. He went very big here. He is a hard worker, trying hard to please every minute he is on the stage.
Opens in one-10 minutes. Closes in two-5 minutes. Time of act 15 minutes. Introducing Miss Remington and four pickanninies. This act goes very well. While I cannot recommend Miss Remington’s singing alone, the act as a whole is good.
Acrobatic act. Full stage, wood. 12 min. This act is one of the biggest hits of the kind that we have ever played. This is their first appearance here in less than a year and they are going fully as big as on their first appearance. They are an act that make people talk and I really believe that aside from their pleasing the patrons they are the one acrobatic act that draw money.
Street in one. 18 minutes. This is a Hebrew singing and talking act and their first appearance in vaudeville in Pittsburgh. They are going very well here, fully as big as York and Adams have gone for us.
Sketch, “Time is Money.” Interior, full stage. 35 min. Mr. Hawtrey’s act is going very well and I feel sure that he has been responsible for quite a lot of new business. We are getting a class of people to see Mr. Hawtrey who have never attended vaudeville performance in Pittsburgh before.
Comedy juggling act. Carrying set house. Wood, full stage. 15 minutes. The comedy of Mr. Arthur is equal to any that we have played. Mr. Bedini’s juggling is very clever and dresses very neat. This is surely the laughing hit of the bill.
