10 min. there are five women in this act but only two are actively employed in the routine of tricks on an apparatus held by two of the women. A good opener.
The Worth Wayten Four proved a lively male quartet with good comedy and harmony. The imitations of musical instruments, closing with a calliope, placed them as a hit.
19 min. F.S. An admirable closer, spectacular and showy, with some fairly good singing, some interesting instrumental work on the Russian mandolins and ending with a whirlwind dancing feature. Compelled to cut down part of this feature because it was too long and the show was late.
12 min. in one. Well known here and held the spot in great shape with some of their old stuff and a good deal that was new and all of it amusing. Pretty hard to follow Bayes & Norworth and get the big laughs, but they did it in good shape. Closed well.
51 min. Big advance hand. If there was the slightest doubt concerning the immense popularity of Bayes and Norworth in this town, it was dispelled today by their splendid reception. They and the company present an act that spells quality from start to finish and the crowded house applauded one feature after another, loth to let them go at the close. Supporting cast, songs, comedy, costumes and everything contribute to make this an ideal vaudeville attraction.
17 min. in one. Made a big hit this afternoon with his Rube character stuff, all of which got big hands. During the Professor’s recital, the laughter stopped the show and the close after the school director’s final speech was very strong.
18 min. F.S. Three very clever fellows, all of them good singers, one of them with an exceptionally brilliant voice and use a drop which displays all the college colors of the country. No end of good material and put over in fine shape with lots of life and ginger. Ought to draw well with the student class. Closed very strong.
13 min. in one. His burlesque juggling is only to give him an opportunity to get off a lot of amusing stuff which gets laughter and once in a while some applause. All right in number two spot. Makes a point of missing his juggling tricks in order to get off some funny lines, and does it very cleverly. Closed well.
8 min. F.S. A good hoop-rolling act, the three boys making a good appearance and using showy material. Some of their work is very rapid and gets a fine hand. O.K. as an opener.
40 min. F.S. This man is a great scientist and certainly a great showman. His act is clean and brilliant and the comedy and of it keeps the audience in roars of laughter. All the fine things that have been said about Pauline and his act have been fully justified today. He suits his act to his house, and there was nothing whatsoever in his work that could call for criticism. He certainly will be town talk before the week is out if his success today with an immense audience in any criterion.
