John Hyams & Leila Mcintyre

Man and woman. Comedy sketch, “two hundred wives.” There is not much sketch to it. There is a thread of a plot which serves to introduce singing and dancing specialties. They do some of their “Mother Goose” work. Miss McIntyre’s singing went especially well, and their dutch character makeup, with which they close the act, serve for a lively finish. Good act. Kitchen in 2 ½ 25 min.

Billy Van

“The Minstrel Man.” Worked white-face today, so as not to conflict with Tenney. Received advance applause, and his entrance opened well. However, I think they tired of him before he finished, for he did not close nearly as strong as he opened. Will try and have him cut his act down to four or five minutes tonight. Drop in one. 18 min.

Monroe, Mack & Lawrence

Sketch: “Maggie’s Day off”. This is not the original Mack. The sketch cannot be compared with their two former offerings, “How to get rid of your Mother-In-Law” and “The Two Senators”. There is more rough-house in this act than in either of the other two, but the man in Mack’s place is weak, and I would much rather have played either of their old acts. C.D.F. in 3. 13 min. The act went off without a hand.

Emmet Corrigan & Co

Sketch “The Card Party.” Five people, three men and two women. This is a serious dramatic sketch, with a glass smashing fight similar to the one in “Pals.” However, this act ends by the whole action of the sketch turning out to be a dream, and although a murder is apparently committed it does not leave a bad taste in the mouth. A good act. Interior in 3 1/2 . 27 min.

Paul Barnes

Offered his familiar monologue in tramp makeup. One would have thought there was a parade of ice wagons passing the theatre, to judge by the temperature. Barnes is just as good as he ever was, and under ordinary conditions would go well. Drop in one 15 min.

Charles Prelle’s Dogs

These dogs are made up to represent horses, elephants, etc. A number of the audience sat up and began to take notice. The set is a good one, and a novelty. It did not receive much applause today, but today does not count. 11 min.

Fred Eckhoff & Anna Gordon

Man and woman, in a comedy musical act. Their stuff is fair, but they could not arouse any enthusiasm today. Anyone could not for that matter, for it was one of the frostiest audiences that I have ever seen in this house. This act did 22min. Close in one.

Lavine & Leonard

2 men. Juggling and dutch comedy, using a prop automobile. The work of the juggler was very bad this afternoon, he missed nearly every trick he tried. He may work off his sea-legs before the night show. Hope so. Fair act. 13 min. Gar. In 4.

Jordon and Harvey

A fair talking and singing act, are not going very good here. All in one. 12 min.

Robert Leraine & Co.

Presenting “A Little Tragedy at [illegible]”. It is very prettily staged but for the rest of it can say but very little. Full stage, 26 min.
