Bessie Wynne

I saw this young lady in New York and she was a terrific hit.  I thought she would make a big noise here in Cleveland but I thought wrong.  Her first two songs this afternoon went well but she went all to pieces on her last song where the fake old man sings from the balcony.  She received hardly enough applause to bring her back for a bow.  Personally, I like her work immensely.  She is dainty clever, and artistic.  But as I do not pay to see the show, its not good business policy to force my likes and dislikes on the Clevelandites.  Drop in one.  17 min.

Four Huntings

Comedy sketch “The Fool House.”  These people came in this morning and quit on account of their billing.  I happened to have an extra act on hand and thirty minutes after they quit they discovered that they could not cripple the show and so they returned and insisted on working.   I allowed them to work.  They made good in this spot.  Full stage 22 Min

The Quartette

The first fall down on the bill.  I was prepared to see an act as good as “That Quartette”, but I found what was almost a frost.  The solo work of the tenor is very bad.  The work of the four men throughout was ragged, and I am wondering if I have the same four that played in the eastern houses.  Whether they have a ringer in or not.  The act is not strong enough for this spot.  They did 14 min. today and the audience seemed glad when it was over.

Pat Rouney & Marion Bent

This act is also well known and feel if they would cut out about four or five minutes of their talk and do more singing and dancing in fact I think they could do their whole act in one which would make it one of the best eccentric dancing acts in the business.  This was thoroughly demonstrated this afternoon as their comedy received very little laughter but the dancing received hearty applause.  The only trouble is Mr. Rooney does not do enough of it.  16 min. C.D.F. Close in one. 4 min.

Papinta

This act is very well known and was pleased to see it go as well as ever.  There is no doubt that Papinta has got all the mirror dancers beaten to death.  Received hearty applause to all her dances.  Two curtain calls at close.  15 Min.  Full stage.

John Clinton and Irene Vernon

Billed a Vaudeville Surprise.  Man and woman.  Singing and talking.  I cannot see where a surprise part comes in, as Mr. Clinton did more laughing at his jokes than his audience did.  The only hit of the act is their last song, where Mr. Clinton leaves the stage and walks up the isle singing “Good Bye.”  They will have hard work making good in any other spot, than where they are.  15 Min.  In one.

The Pianophiends

There are five men and four women in this act.  They use four upright and one grand piano.  The act consists of singing, dancing and piano music.  TO my mind it is the best act that Lasky has yet put out.  It has more ginger, snap and fire in it than any other act of this firm that has been along here.  I would consider it a cracker jack.  Special set in 3.  20 minutes.

Solomon 11

This fellow is the champion freak. The Monday afternoon audience landed on him before he was on the stage 5 mon. I am sorry the act is here. It was impossible to keep the boys in the gallery from guying him, and the people in the orchestra seats, did not seem to enjoy it. Drop in one. 9 min.

Louise Montrose & 4 Auto Girls

Opening with a song and dance with the 5 girls in auto costume. They change to 4 girls in gentlemens evening dress with Miss Montrose in an evening gown, in singing and dancing specialty here. Miss Montrose does impersonations of German, Negro and Irish characters. Act closes with the 5 dressed as cowboys doing an inappropriate dancing specialty. Miss Montrose is quite clever. The act is thoroughly all right for this spot on the bill. Garden in 4. 12 min.

Luigi Del Oro

Virtuso musicale solo on the Armonipede. After the novelty of the first selection worked off, 7/8 of the audience were reading their programs. There is no doubt that the man works hard, and he is probably an artist for he stills [sic] wears his medals. For an act in one he is much more acceptable than Joe Flynn, but I still doubt the value of the act for this house. He may be good, but I would not care to play the act again for sometime. Drop in one, 12 min.
