Instrumentalists. Two women and one man, who do a very nice musical act, which makes it very effective. They close on Saxophones and were well applauded. Full stage, close in one.
‘The Black Cat.’ Their new act. From a dramatic standpoint, this is unquestionably a fine act. It is however, so unlike their old sketches that it does not seem to be their best hold. It is admirably acted and has some good comedy, but they have been so long identified with strong laughter provoking comedy that there seems to be something missing which without a doubt they will remedy as they see the need. It is a good act and went well. Carry their own scenery. Full stage, 25 min.
Queen of equine culture. An extremely pleasing act to the eye. Miss Gerard is a beautiful woman, has two very fine horses, splendidly trained. The first horse is ridden on stage by Miss Gerard, and does marching, dancing, etc. She closes with second horse, mounting revolving circular, colored lights are thrown on and she does a serpentine motion on horseback with beautiful effect. It is a good act. Full stage, 8 min.
West is an artist in the line of Coster songs. He comes on and sings two Coster songs, which are well received. Then the stage opens in full, showing subway etc. He then comes the character of a Coster laborer with song, has a chorus of eight boys made up as Irishmen, with picks on their shoulders. The chorus is the real redeeming feature of the act. It went well with the audience. Closes with special song by request. Open one, full stage, close in one. 16 min.
