Electro-hypnotism. 25 minutes full stage. The scientific part of his act is not as effective as Volta’s, but the comedy is exceptionally amusing. I might say as strong as Pauline’s. His finish is very crude, the idea of having his committee jump and run off the stage is objectionable. I shall try to arrange some differently of rest of week.
25 minutes in 1. Musical Monologue. Miss Glose is one the most artistic offering we have ever played. She particularly appealed to the dollar section of our audience and I look to her to draw this element during the week. Would that were more acts like hers available.
Acrobats. 16 minutes, full stage. This is the finest Jap act we have yet had. All working good and fast. Stage settings magnificent.
Monologist, 18 minutes in 1. Good material, which is well rendered. Going well.
“The Opera Singer”. 25 minutes, full stage, goes to 1 and finishes full stage. This act scored heavily. The novelty of the construction and the splendid singing of Lind together with some good laughs make it a valuable offering.
Huge elephant, horses and pony. 12 minutes, full stage. A splendid act which closes the show elegantly.
English character actor. A great artist portraying characters which are not understood and consequently not appreciated. They are entirely foreign to our audiences and from a business standpoint his engagement is a failure. From the present outlook the week will be one of the worst of the season.
Acrobats. 10 minutes, full stage. Good act. Doing all right here.
Comedy sketch “Keeping an Appointment”, 18 minutes in 1. Four people and use their own drop. A great idea only fairly written and poorly played. Act opens bare stage, furniture and draperies being brought on during dialogue and arranged in attractive manner. Characters are man and wife, song and dance team, who have a club to play, fresh bellboy, and hotel porter. The evening clothes the couple need fail to arrive and they improvise from the draperies etc. of the room. Very clever. Act concludes with song and dance, during which the furniture and drapings are again removed. Holds spot in fair shape.
Musical imitations. 12 minutes in 1. Holds this spot in very good shape closing with three bows.
